ORDER
The relief sought for in the present writ petition is to direct the respondents to reconsider the petitioner's application made through online on 30.04.2018 or an application to be made if necessary for appointing the petitioner as Distributor for LPG in Chennai, Tiruvallur and Chengalpattu Districts in any one of the vacant locations after calling for the records.
2. The relief in general as such sought for in the present writ petition cannot be granted. Appointments of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) distributorship by the Oil Corporations are made in accordance with the rules and regulations and therefore, the petitioner has to participate in the process of selection for appointment of LPG distributorship at Chennai.

3. Mere application would not confer an absolute right to proceed distributorship. However, the petitioner has not made out any ground for the purpose of granting the relief as such sought for. Contrarily the petitioner states that he has made an application and he is fully eligible as per the broacher issued by the Oil Corporation and therefore, the application submitted by him is to be reconsidered.
4. In view of the fact that the petitioner has not established any acceptable ground for the purpose of considering the relief, this Writ Petition stands dismissed. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
