Section 12(1) in The Dadra and Nagar Haveli Panchayat Regulation, 2012
(1)As soon as may be, after its constitution, every Gram Sabha shall elect by direct election an Executive Committee called the Gram Panchayat and a Chairperson of that Committee to be known as the Sarpanch.
