Section 126(1) in The Merchant Shipping (Shipping Office Forms) Rules, 1963
(1)Where the master of a ship disrates a seaman, he shall forthwith enter or cause to be entered in the official log book a statement of the disrating, and furnish the seaman with a copy of wages consequent on the disrating shall not take effect until the entry has been so made and the copy so furnished.
