Section 2(8) in The Assam Agricultural University Act, 1968
(8)"Extension" means the educational activities concerned with training o farmers and home makers and other groups serving agricultural and veterinary science in improved practices of agriculture, veterinary science and animal husbandry including the dissemination and application of results of reaches, and the various phases of specific technology related to agriculture and agricultural production and marketing. It would involve but may not be limited to work through discussions and demonstrations and other methods for teaching improved practices in agriculture, veterinary science and animal husbandry and the training of workers required for the conduct of these education activities ;
