Section 7(1) in The North Cachar Hills Autonomous Districts (Administration of Justice) Rules, 1955
(1)Three shall be one Subordinate District Council Court at Haflong. The Court shall be presided over by one or more judicial officers as may be prescribed and appointed by the District Council with the approval of the Governor and such Judicial Officer, or if there is more than one Judicial Officer, such as may be nominated by the District Council, shall act as the President and the Recorder of the Court:Provided that the Chief Executive Member or a Member of the Executive Committee or any Member of the District Council shall not be eligible to hold office as such Judicial Officer.
