Section 9(2) in Khasi Hills Autonomous District (Appointment and Succession of Syiem, Deputy Syiem, Electors and Rangbah Shnong of Mylliem Syiemship) Act, 2007
(2)The Deputy Syiem shall be the member of the Executive Durbar and the Durbar Hima and he shall preside the meetings as and when the Syiem is not present due to ill health or due to unavoidable circumstances.
