Section 1 in Tamil Nadu Town and Country Planning Act, 1971
1. Short title, extent and commencement.
(1)This Act may be called the Tamil Nadu Town and Country Planning Act, 1971.(2)It extends to the whole of the State of Tamil Nadu except the places declared to be cantonments under section 3 of the Cantonments Act, 1924 (Central Act II of 1924).(3)It shall come into force on such date as the Government may, by notification, appoint; and different dates may be appointed for different areas and for different provisions of this Act.
