Section 74(1) in The Maharashtra Municipal Councils, Nagar Panchayats And Industrial Townships Act, 1965
(1)The State Government shall by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint a Director of Municipal Administration, His jurisdiction shall extend to the entire State. The State Government may, by like notification appoint Regional Directors of Municipal Administration, who shall have jurisdiction over such area of the State as the State Government may, from time to time, specify.
