10B. Power to summon witnesses and cause production of documents.
(1)An Inspector, Licensing Authority or Appellate Authority shall for the purposes of this Act, have all the powers conferred on a Civil Court by the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908 (Central Act 5 of 1908), in respect of the following matters, namely:-(a)summoning and enforcing the attendance of any person and examining him on oath or affirmation;(b)compelling the production of any documents;(c)impounding of any documents, accounts or other records produced for reasons to be recorded in writing; and(d)any other matter which may be prescribed.(2)The officer who impounds the documents, accounts or registers of the money-lender shall grant a receipt of the things so impounded to the person who produced the same.
