*SHRI D. RAVIKUMAR (VILLUPPURAM): Hon. Speaker Sir Vanakkam. Thank you for allowing me to speak for the first time during Zero Hour. I represent Villuppuram parliamentary constituency which is a backward area. The educational status of women is worse in Villuppuram district. If we compare the literacy rates of men and women of this area, there is a gap of 17 per cent in the literacy rate. In order to improve the status of education of women in Villuppuram area, I urge that special schools should be set by the Union Government. Villuppuram area is a tribal populated area.
Irular is a tribal community who live in large numbers in my Villuppuram constituency They have a literacy rate of only 34 per cent, and particularly Irular women particularly have a literacy rate of just 27 per cent श्री जगदम्बिका पाल (डुमरियागंज): यह आतंकवादियों के खिलाफ है । ये एक जाति को लेकर जिस तरह से कह रहे हैं । यह सदन की परम्परा नहीं है ।…(व्यवधान)

*SHRI D. RAVIKUMAR : An Ekalavya Special School is operational in this Villuppuram district. I request that another Ekalavya Special School should be set up in my Villuppuram constituency with the financial support from the Union Government. In order to improve the status of youth in rural areas and to generate employment opportunities for them, I urge upon the Union Government through you that agro based industries should be set up in my constituency besides allocation of sufficient funds.
