133. Procedure.
(1)No Court shall take cognizance of any offence punishable under this Act or any rule or regulation made thereunder unless complaint of such offence is made within six months next after the commission thereof.(2)No Court inferior to that of a [Presidency Magistrate or a Magistrate of the First Class shall try any offence punishable under this Act] [According to clauses (a) and (c) of sub-section (3) of section 3 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (Central Act 2 of 1974), any reference to a Magistrate of the first class shall be construed as a reference to a Judicial Magistrate of the first class and any reference to a Presidency Magistrate shall be construed as a reference to a Metropolitan Magistrate with effect on and from the 1st April, 1974.].
