(b)count the female prisoners and lock them up in their respective wards, cells and other compartments and report to the Deputy Superintendent that she has done so and record the fact, with the number of prisoners confined in each ward, cell or other compartment, in a register to be kept for the purpose under the orders of the Superintendent; and
