Section 49(2) in The Jadavpur University Act, 1981
(2)A regulation shall be deemed to be issued by the Executive Council if it is agreed to at a meeting of the Executive Council by a majority of the total number of members of the Executive Council existing at the time. A Regulation shall come into force immediately on being passed unless otherwise directed by the Chancellor.
