Section 268(3) in Uttar Pradesh Municipal Corporation Act, 1959
(3)The Municipal Commissioner may by notice require the owner or occupier on whose land a drain, privy, latrine, urinal, cesspool or other receptacle for filth or refuse exists within fifty feet of a spring, well, tank, reservoir, river or other source from which water is, or may be, derived for public use, to remove or close the same within one week from the service of such notice and if such owner or occupier fails to comply with the demand within the time allowed, the Municipal Commissioner, may cause the same to be removed or closed and the expenses thereby incurred shall be paid by the person offending.
