(8)Whenever a temporary vacancy occurs in the office of Vice-Chancellor and it cannot be conveniently and expeditiously filled up in accordance with the provisions of this section, the Chancellor may direct any of the officers of the University to carry on the current duties of the office of the Vice-Chancellor.
