256. Facility of certain transactions to be permitted to prisoners.
- If the Superintendent is satisfied about the merits of each case and that the privilege shall not be misused, he may allow a prisoner in Class I or Class II,(a)to effect sale, transfer or disposal of his property outside the prison in accordance with law; or(b)to draw cheques in the absence of any relatives or friends to operate his accounts, if the money is required for a legitimate purpose such as payment of taxes or other dues or maintenance of his dependents.
