Section 57(1) in The Mumbai Municipal Corporation Act, 1888
(1)The Commissioner shall receive [such monthly salary [as the State Government may from time to time, determine,] [These words were substituted for the original words by Bombay 13 of 1938, Section 26(1).] ] in return wherever he shall, except as hereinafter provided, devote his whole time and attention to the duties of his office as prescribed in this Act or in any other enactment for the time being in force:Duties which may be undertaken by the Commissioner outside of this Act.
