Section 118(1) in The Naval Ceremonial, Conditions Of Service And Miscellaneous Regulations, 1964
(1)Recruitment of Special Entry Cadets in the [Executive, Engineering and Electrical Branches] [Substitued by S.R.O. 50, dated 19th February, 1981] of the Indian Navy shall be made through a competitive examination. This examination may be called the Indian Navy Examination and shall be held by the Union Public Service Commission twice a year in accordance with the Government of India, Ministry of Defence, notification published in the Gazette of India on each occasion.
