Section 25(1) in The Coal Mines Regulations, 2017

(1)No person shall act as a manager or an official or a winding engineman in a mine after attaining the age of sixty years unless he has obtained, within the preceding one year, a medical certificate of fitness certifying him fit to carry out the duties prescribed for him in the Act and in these regulations and orders made thereunder:Provided that if the Chief Inspector or the Regional Inspector is of the opinion that a person as aforesaid, though less than sixty years of age, is medically unfit to carry on the duties assigned to him in the Act and in these regulations and orders made thereunder, the Chief Inspector or the Regional Inspector may, by an order in writing, require such person to obtain a medical certificate of fitness within such period, not exceeding three months, as he may specify therein; and no such person shall continue to act in any capacity as aforesaid after the period so specified unless he has obtained a medical certificate of fitness.
