Section 9 in The Bombay Provincial Municipal Corporations Act, 1949
9. Qualification for election as councillor. - (1) Subject to the provisions of this Act, a person who is enrolled in the municipal election roll as a voter for a ward [and has attained the age of twenty one years on the last date fixed for making nomination for election] shall be qualified to be a councillor and to be elected either from such ward or from any other ward.
(2)Any person who ceases to be a councillor shall, if qualified under sub-section (1), be eligible for re-election as such.
