(1)With effect from such date as the State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint in this behalf there shall be established for the purposes of this Act a Board by the name of the Gujarat Housing Board.(2)The Board shall be a body corporate having perpetual succession and a common seal and may sue and be sued in its corporate name and shall be competent to acquire and hold property both movable and immovable and to contract and do all things necessary for the purposes of this Act.(3)For the purposes of this Act and the [* * *] [The word 'relevant' was deleted by Gujarat 1 of 1973, section 3.] land acquisition law the Board shall be deemed to be a local authority;Explanation. - The purposes of this Act referred to in sub-section (3) include the management and use of lands and buildings belonging to or vesting in the Board under or from purposes of this Act and the exercise of its rights over and with respect to such lands and buildings for the purposes of this Act.
