46AA. [ Special provision relating to election. [Inserted by Tamil Nadu Municipal Laws (Amendment) Act, 2006 (Tamil Nadu Act 18 of 2006).]
- Notwithstanding anything contained in this Act or the rules made or orders issued vender this Act, for the first election to the council to be held immediately after the 14th day of July 2006, the territorial area of the divisions of the city, the total number of divisions and the total number of councillors to be returned from such divisions shall be the same as they exist on the 14th day of July, 2006.]
