Section 24 in The Orissa District Planning Committees Rules, 2000
24. Election to fill vacancy.
(1)In the event of vacancy in the office of a member by reason of his death, resignation or otherwise or in the event of cessation of his membership under Section 6 of the Act, the District Magistrate shall make arrangements for election within a period of one month from the date on which such vacancy arises or such cessation commences or within such further time as may be ordered by the District Magistrate for reasons to be recorded by him in this behalf, to fill the vacancy.(2)In case of election under sub-rule (1), the provisions of rules 4 to 23 shall apply.
