- Whoever commits (a) breach of the provisions of rule 8 shall, on conviction by a Magistrate, be punishable with a fine, which may extend to Rs. 100/- or with imprisonment which may extend to 3 months or with fine or with both.(b)A breach of any other provision of the rules, shall on conviction by a Magistrate, be punishable with fine, which may extend to Rs. 2000/- and in the case of a continuing breach, after conviction of the first breach, with a fine which may extend to Rs. 30/- per day.(c)A breach of direction given shall be punished with a fine which may extend to Rs. 20/- for every day during which the breach continues after receipt of notice from the local authority or the Health Officer as the case may be, to discontinue such breach.
