Section 285(1) in The U.P. Municipalities Act, 1916
(1)The [Municipality] [Substituted by U.P. Act No. 12 of 1994.] may, by public notice, order a burial or burning ground which is certified by the Civil Surgeon or the Health Officer to be dangerous, or likely to be dangerous, to the health of person living in the neighbourhood, to be closed from a date to be specified in the notice, and shall, in such case, if no suitable place for burial place exist within a reasonable distance, provide a fitting place for the purpose.
