(2)In addition to the duties and functions referred to in sub-section (1), the Authority may undertake such other duties and functions, including those of a Planning Authority or Special Planning Authority under the Town Planning Act, as the State Government may assign to the Authority in any specified area, and in doing so, the Authority shall be deemed to be fulfilling the purposes of this Act and the provisions of the Act shall apply to the Authority in respect of those duties and functions also.
