Section 10 in Continuing Dental Education Regulations, 2018

10. System of assessment of CDE credit points.

- 10.1 It would be the responsibility of the CDE provider/s conducting the programme to ensure that only valid professionals who have attended the CDE activity in full, are allotted CDE credit points. The organization may adopt any of the following measures for prompt allotment of credit points:10.1.1Bar Code at Entry and Exit level10.1.2Speaker will be given a code at the beginning and end of the lecture. The code envelope shall be opened just before the lecture.10.1.3One observer appointed by the concerned State Dental Council shall be present during the programme. The observer shall put his/her signature on every CDE certificate for the validity.
10.2The Organization shall submit the entire data of the attendees to the State Councils within a month of the programme, otherwise the allotted CDE points will not be valid. Simultaneously, the State Dental Councils would also ensure proper assessment of CDE points (preferably online) as above and would develop a mechanism for the same.The information would be in format:

Note:- The registration/recognition of the Organization/s, that do not adhere to the above guidelines, may be withdrawn as a CDE provider.
10.3The system of assessment is to be based on a self declaration format to be submitted to the DCI /State Dental Council every 5 years by the practitioner in which he or she would detail the number of credit hours achieved in this period and a signed declaration of submission of proof of attendance in terms of certificates participation, registration receipts etc. if required. The State Dental Councils are advised to electronically update the database of the CDE for its successful implementation. A random audit system would be used to monitor the implementation.
