(1)The provisions of section 54 shall be read out and explained to every person appointed, whether temporarily or permanently, to be subordinate officer in any jail at the time of his appointment as such, and such person shall be required to affix his signature or mark to a written acknowledgement (Form No. i 64) that the provisions of this rule have been duly complied with.
