(2)The term of office of the members of the Senate, other than ex-officio members, shall be for a period of two years with effect from the dates of their respective elections and shall include any further period which may intervene between the expiration of the said period of two years and the date of the next succeeding election or nomination, as the case may be, not being an election or nomination to fill up a casual vacancy.
