Issue Regarding National Eligibility - Cum- Entrance Test (Neet) 2016-17 For ... on 6 May, 2016
Sixteenth Loksabha an> title: Issue regarding National Eligibility - cum- Entrance Test (NEET) 2016-17 for medical entrance examination.
SHRI N.K. PREMACHANDRAN (KOLLAM): Mr. Chairman, Sir, my submission is in respect of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) 2016-17 for medical entrance examination.
Sir, the recent Supreme Court judgement that the NEET has to be conducted in two phases, that is, on 1st May, 2016 and on 24th July, 2016 has created a crisis. If the decision of the hon. Supreme Court becomes final, it will create hardship to the students of Kerala, because in the State of Kerala we have already conducted the Entrance Examination and the rank list is being prepared. Further, the direction of the Supreme Court is to conduct two tests with two question papers within a time span of two months for preparing a common rank list for admission is totally discriminatory because two question papers and two days of examination for preparing a common rank list can never be allowed.
I urge upon the Government to initiate urgent action to submit the facts and realities before hon. Supreme Court for seeking a favourable order to protect the interests of students.
