Section 8(1)(i) in Tamil Nadu District Municipalities (Hill Stations) Building Rules, 1993

(i)so constructed as to satisfy the executive authority that they will sustain the combined load of the building and of the superimposed load and transmit these loads to the subsoil in such manner as not to impair the stability of the building or part thereof by the settlement caused by the pressure of such loads; and
