Section 5(1)(a) in The Indian Forest Service (Probationers' Final Examination) Regulations, 2016
(a)Regional language:(i)The probationer should be examined in the regional language specified in the column (2) of the Second Schedule against the cadre to which he is allocated.(ii)Where more than one regional language is shown against the cadre concerned, the Director of the Academy shall ascertain whether the probationer is already familiar with any of them and thereafter may decide in consultation with the State Government the regional language in which the probationer shall be examined.(iii)The test shall comprise of translation, free composition, set composition, conversation and dictation.(iv)The Probationer's knowledge of grammar should be tested mainly by composition, conversation and passage for comment.
