Section 2(1)(a) in The Bangalore Metro Railway (Opening of Public Carriage for Passengers) Rules, 2011

(a)"absolute block system" means a system of train working wherein a line is divided into sections or blocks and only one train is allowed to enter a block section at a time only after ensuring that the last train ahead has cleared the block section and the movement to the block section is protected by a stop signal;
