Section 16 in The Daman And Diu Panchayat Regulation, 2012
16. Election of members.
- The election of members of a Gram Panchayat shall be held in such manner (including Election of the manner of voting) as may be prescribed and on such date or dates as the Administrator may, in consultation with the Election Commission, by notification direct :Provided that a casual vacancy shall be filled-up within a period of six months from the date of occurrence of such vacancy :Provided further that no election shall be held to fill a casual vacancy occurring within six months prior to the general election of a Gram Panchayat under this section.
