606. Days on which convicts are exempt from labour.
(1)No prisoner shall be required to perform any labour, other than such as may be necessary for the conduct of the internal management and domestic economy of the jail or to meet any cell of emergency on any of the jail holidays.(2)The Inspector-General may with the previous sanction of the State Government, by general or special order in that behalf, exempt any prisoner or class of prisoners, or all prisoners generally, from labour on any particular day or days other than those specified in clause (1).
