Section 20(1) in Khasi Hills Autonomous District (Appointment and Succession of Syiem, Deputy Syiem, Electors and Rangbah Shnong of Mylliem Syiemship) Act, 2007
(1)The Syiem, the Deputy Syiem, the Basan, the Myntri, the Lyngdoh, the Syiem Raid, the Lyngdoh Raid, Longsan or Rangbah Shnong shall not be a member or be otherwise associated with any political party or any organization which takes part in politics, nor shall they take part in, subscribe in aid or assist in any other manner, any political movement or activity.
