- Any person may be nominated as a candidate for election to fill a seat if he is qualified to be chosen to fill that seat under the provisions of the constitution and this Act;[Provided that a person nominated as a candidate to fill a seat in a constituency in a Panchayat shall not be nominated as a candidate for another constituency in the same Panchayat] [Substituted by Act 7 of 1995.].
