- The Municipality may, at any time, with prior approval of the Government, and in accordance with such conditions, as may be imposed by the Government, abandon any scheme notified under sub- section (1) of section 438, and upon such abandonment, any land in respect of which, the acquisition is not complete upto the stage of making of award, and the owner or the occupier of such land, shall cease to be subject to any liability under this Chapter.
