Section 11 in Tamil Nadu Registration of Marriages Act, 2009
11. Search of marriage register.
(1)Subject to any rules made in this behalf by the Government including the rules relating to payment of fee, any person may,-(a)cause a search to be made by the Registrar for any entry in the register of marriages; and(b)obtain an extract from such register relating to marriages.(2)All extracts given under this section shall be certified by the Registrar and shall be admissible in evidence for the purpose of proving the marriage to which the entry relates.
