Regarding Trained Act Apprentices Of South Western Railway. on 11 August, 2016

Sixteenth Loksabha an> Title: Regarding trained Act Apprentices of South Western Railway.

SHRI PRALHAD JOSHI (DHARWAD):  Act apprentice trained candidates in South Western Railway (SWR) have not been given any appointment in the group D since 2010.  So they have been demanding their appointment as group D employees.

But SWR did not take any steps in this regard stating that there is no such requirement.  When this matter was raised by me, the Government issued a circular in June reserving 20% of posts for Act Apprentice trainees in general recruitment in Railways in all Zones and they have to participate in general process. Now these trainees are demanding that they be exempted from facing written and physical test as they have been out of touch to face competition since many of them have crossed the age bar. In this background, I urge the Government to examine their demands sympathetically and take necessary step.
