Section 188 in The Chhattisgarh Municipalities Act, 1961
188. Right of compensation.
(1)Save as otherwise provided no compensation shall be claimable by an owner for any damage which he may sustain in consequence of a prohibition under this Act of the erection of any building.(2)The Council shall make reasonable compensation to the owner for any damage which he may sustain in consequence of the prohibition of the re-erection of any building:Provided that the Council shall not be liable to make any compensation in respect of the prohibition of the re-erection of any building which, for a period of six years or more immediately preceding such prohibition, has ceased to be fit for occupation or to exist or, having been demolished or destroyed has not been re-erected.
