(1)When a Senior Vice-President or a Vice-President, as the case may be, -(a)vacates his office under section 42; or(b)resigns his office under section 43; or(c)is removed from his office by a resolution by the Municipal Council under section 48,a fresh election shall be held to fill up the vacancy within a period of fifteen days from the date of occurrence of the vacancy and the Senior Vice- President or the Vice-President, as the case may be, so elected, shall hold office for a period of two-and-a-half years or till the expiry of the duration of Senior Vice-President or Vice-President in whose place he is elected, whichever is earlier.
