(3)If the amount of pension granted to a Government servant under sub-rule (1) is afterwards found to be in excess of that to which he is entitled under these rules, he shall be called upon to refund such excess in the manner and under the conditions specified in rule 56. If, however, the amount of the gratuity so disbursed proves to be larger than the amount finally assessed, die pensioner shall be required to refund the excess actually disbursed to him.
