Section 15A(3) in The Gauhati University Act, 1947
(3)If the Executive Council does not accept any of the recommendations of the Selection Committee, it shall refer the matter to the Chancellor, stating clearly the reasons for not agreeing with the Selection Committee, an the decision given by the Chancellor thereon shall be final.
