Section 10(5)(a) in The Gujarat Professional Medical Educational Colleges or Institutions (Regulation of Admission and Fixation of Fees) Act, 2007

(a)The Fee Regulatory Committee shall have powers for the purpose of making inquiry under this Act, of a Civil Court under the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908 (5 of 1908) while trying a suit in respect of the following matters, namely:-
(i)summoning and enforcing the attendance of any witness and examining him on oath;
(ii)requiring the discovery and production of any document;
(iii)receiving evidence on affidavit; and
(iv)issuing commission for examination of witnesses for local inspection;
