1. Both these Petitions have been filed under section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act 1996 seeking an extension of time for completing the arbitration proceedings and passing the final award. The Arbitration Petition (L) No.1400 of 2018 seeks an extension of three months whereas Petitioner in Arbitration petition (L) No.1469 of 2018 seeks an extension for a period of one one year.

Both the parties are agreeable that time needs to be extended.

However, the only dispute is the period for which the extension vrd 1/2 ::: Uploaded on - 27/11/2018 ::: Downloaded on - 28/11/2018 02:05:22 ::: ARBPL1400.18.doc should be granted. After having heard both the sides and considering the stage at which the arbitration proceedings are, time to complete the arbitration proceedings and pass the final award is extended for a period of eight months from today. The Petitions are disposed of in the aforesaid terms. However, there shall be no order as to costs.
