Section 49(1) in The Tamil Nadu Cinemas (Regulation) Rules, 1957
(1)The foundations of every building newly constructed shall be-(i)so constructed that they will sustain the combined load of the building and of the superimposed load and transmit those loads to the sub-soil in such manner, as not to impair the stability of the building or any part thereof by the settlement caused by the pressure of such loads; and(ii)taken down to such a depth, or so constructed, as to render the building immune from damage from movements due to seasonal variations in the content of moisture, in the ground.
