Section 202(1) in The New Delhi Municipal Council Act, 1994
(1)All streets within New Delhi which are or at any time become public streets and the pavements, stones and other materials thereof shall vest in the Council:Provided that no public street which immediately before the commencement of this Act vested in the Union shall, unless the Central Government with the consent of the Council so directs, vest in the Council by virtue of this sub-section.
