SHRI M. K. RAGHAVAN (KOZHIKODE): Sir, thank you for giving me an opportunity. I would like to raise an issue of public importance relating to the structural unsafeness of Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1 in my constituency Kozhikode.
Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1 was established in 1965 at Kozhikode, Kerala and is now located in a five-acre plot. This is regarding construction of a new building at Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1, Kozhikode in view of the structural unsafeness of the existing old school building. This is pending for the last two years.
It is understood that CPWD has already submitted the proposal and the preliminary plan, and the required SFC approval is awaited. The students, teachers and parents are facing inconvenience with the prevailing shift system.
In view of the same, I would request that the SFC and Cabinet approval are accorded early so that work commences at the earliest.
