Section 25(1) in Assam Adoption of Standard Weights Act, 1955
(1)Whoever forges or counterfeits any stamp used under this Act for the stamping of any weight or weighing instrument, or removes a stamp from any weight or weighing instrument and inserts the same into another weight or weighing instrument, or wilfully tampers with a weight or weighing instrument stamped under this Act so as to effect its accuracy, shall on conviction, be punishable with rigorous imprisonment for a period which may extend to six months, or with fine which may extend to one thousand rupees, or with both.
